My Birthday Boy

Today my baby boy turns 1!! I am in total shock. I can't believe that it has been a whole year since the day he came into this world. It seriously feels like yesterday. I can remember everything about that day very clearly, and I am not known for my memory! He came by scheduled c-section. The surgery went so well and I felt so good afterwards that I truly got to enjoy him from the first moments that I got to hold him. He has been a pleasant baby since day one, and for that I am truly grateful and feel very blessed!

I adore this little boy. He is a complete joy in our lives. He has an infectious smile and laugh. He is very affectionate and makes my heart smile with big hugs all the time. He loves music. I catch him dancing all the time to whatever music he hears, on the tv, from a toy, on the radio. He warms up to people easily and shows his affection with hugs and very loving head butts. Its the sweetest thing you will ever see. He absolutely adores his big sister. He will wait around in the hallway in the morning for her to wakeup and follows her around like a puppy all day. He plays really well with her and on his own. He is such a happy, playful kid too. As long as he is fed and gets his sleep he is happy. He is easy to console and there is no drama with him (generally, he is starting to learn from his sister. haha). I just love this kid!

He was a surprise to our family and I am so grateful for him. I truly don't know what I would do if we wasn't part of our family. He is a good little friend of mine. I count on our little times together every day. One of my favorite moments of the day is first thing in the morning. James wakes up and we come out to the living room, leave the lights off, and sit in our favorite rocking chair while he drink his morning milk. We talk and giggle and snuggle and he is just so precious. Every day I realize how much more he is growing up and I miss his babyness, but I look forward to the little man he will become.
