Ideas?

Ryan and I would like to go on a little family vacation. Nothing extravagant. Nothing long. Nothing expensive or terribly far from home. Does anyone have any great ideas for me? We have no idea where we could go. Ryan desperately needs a break from work but we want to really have a plan before he takes time off. I know all of you out there are great vacationers, give me your brilliant ideas!

I would say Zions National Park, only 4 hours south, cheep, you could even camp, I could give you a website too of Cowboy Bunks, they have a fun little river to cool off, you could hike around on some really easy nature walks, peacefull, kid friendly, etc

How about Jackson Hole, or Bear Lake? Or St. George, or Park City?

Hey...how about San Francisco...Oh I forgot you said.."Not too far and Not very expensive!" Probably doesn't fit your criteria. We'd love to see you all.

Hi this is Ryans cousin Jason down here in Texas, If you like camping, then I suggest Goblin Valley. We went and gave the kids spray bottles to spray each other with since it can get hot down there. they had a blast! there are a bunch of little rocks they can climb on and have fun!
Also you could just go to the local canyons, do day hikes with the fam. maybe do some hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill up american fork canyon. And then you can go home and stay in your own bed at night..... no one has to know your not on vacation..... just don't answer the door or the phone!!p.s.(this is really his wife GRACE typing for him and adding my 2 cents worth!!)
Hope y'all find something fun to do!

I agree with Zion. It is FABULOUS! Are you camping people? You could even just come camping with us some weekend (sans the Caleb man of course...) We've been wanting to leave him with my mom and take off up to Albion Basin some weekend.

Hi, this is Ryan's cousin, Tamara. Just got your blog from your dad and I'm loving getting caught up. Couldn't help adding my thoughts to this vacation thing. We just got back from Moab and had a great time. It is fantastic for kids because it's not very far away, there are lots of smaller hikes for little kids (plus a few with that fantastic red sand they love to play in), and Moab is so close to Arches that you can go in and out of the park for naps, etc. Also, a midway stop in Price has a neat dinosaur museum that my kids loved. It was a perfect trip with kids, so I highly recommend it.
P.S. I'd love your e-mail address so I can forward you my family website if you're interested.

I vote Logan. You have a ton of family there so a place to stay wouldn't cost anything and Bear Lake is only like an hour away!
