A day to remember!

I had the BEST day yesterday. It started with a gift from my hubby of a new mixer (Blendtec Mix 'n Blend II)! I know it doesn't sound romantic, but I've been wanting one forever and totally wasn't expecting it, so it was great! Its fancy and powerful and it made a tasty loaf of banana bread this morning! I have a bad history with bread products, so to have a successful loaf is almost a miracle! I'm so excited. I might just gain 10 pounds while i'm testing it out, but it'll be worth it! :)

Then, when the kids went down for their nap I got to go get a glorious pedicure. Nothing like pretty toes for our anniversary date.

Once my niece Chelsie got here to watch the kids we headed off to the first activity of the evening. A heavenly hour long couples massage! Ah, seriously, it was glorious. I felt relaxed, refreshed and about a half inch taller from all the stretching of my muscles. It was grand.

As soon as we could walk again, we were off to our dinner reservations at The Melting Pot. Oh yum! All 4 courses were great, but the last one, the chocolate course, I could have bathed in it! I keep thinking about it and drooling. It was incredible. I left very happy!

Of course the night was made even more fun by the fact that we were out, dressed in nice clothes, driving the fun "race car". I felt so cool. We planned to do a movie after dinner, but it was so crowded everywhere that we opted for RedBox and the comfy couch at home. It was a wonderful evening! Thanks Ryan for the fun night! I love you!

Happy Anniversary 2009!

(Ignore the crooked picture. Its the best I had on hand, I've never scanned my other wedding pictures, but isn't it cute?)

Today is our 5th Anniversary. What a five years its been! We were talking this morning how in some ways in has zoomed by and we can't believe it been 5 years already, but in other ways we feel like we've been together our whole lives and its amazing that is only been 5 years. Time is a funny thing!

We've packed a lot into our first 5 years. Two houses, two kids, two jobs, a miscarriage, and 5 cars, just to name a few of the big events. Sheesh. But, I would not change one second of the life we've had.

My husband is the best husband there is. I'm quite sure of it. He takes care of our family, he works hard, he is an amazing help around the house, and he makes me better every day. He supports me in whatever I want to do, even if its an inconvenience to him. He is amazing. I chose well! I just want everyone to know that I am the luckiest woman out there and that I love my husband more than anything! He is my world and I don't know what I would do without him.

I've renewed my desire for exercise. The family triathlon is approaching again and I want to do at least a relay again this year, if not the whole thing. I went running twice last week. I generally detest running, but actually felt the desire to go and went! Woohoo! And the best part is, I want to do it again. I can't run far, I'm really quite pathetic, but its a start that I've done it and want to do it again. There is something nice about running outside with some music pumping into your ears. Ahh. I also want to swim laps. That one is harder because it takes so much time to get away for laps, but I intend to do it at least once this week. I'm posting this in hopes of keeping myself motivated by knowing that all of my friends know my intentions. Keep me going guys!

Spring, How I love thee!

We have been able to play outside everyday for 3 days now. Its amazing. The weather has been glorious. We just came in from two hours of sunshine and perfect temperatures. *sigh* So great! We had our first picnic on the lawn of the year. The kids didn't eat much because they were having such a great time just being outside, but I didn't care. We weren't driving each other crazy, I couldn't see my messy house!

Ah, spring. I have missed you!!
There is something about spring that just makes life a little easier to handle. I feel like lately I've been smothered in everything. Just feeling overwhelmed by life in general. And today, relief. Sunshine. A good book. Happy kids. Fun neighbors. Ahhhh. I feel like I can breath again. I might even go for a jog outside today...maybe. :)

Catching up

I've been a blog slacker lately, and for that I apologize. Its just been one of those weeks (or months) where I've felt rather overwhelmed with life and all that we have going on. So here is a quite update. This week we celebrated Ryan's birthday. The kids and I surprised him for lunch, thanks to our good friend David, then later that evening we went to dinner at Los Hermanos in Provo with my parents and my niece Chelsie, my parents paid, it was great. :) Then we went to a Utah Valley Symphony concert. My niece Jaime was a soloist, and it was amazing! 7 soloist ages 9-19 performed with jaw dropping talent. I left feeling amazing, and amazingly mediocre all at the same time. It was a really fun evening. Then Friday night we had a party with all our closest friends, including Chick-fil-a, spinach-artichoke dip, fruit dip, and brownie sundaes. Oh yeah, there were people there too... I think Ryan enjoyed himself. I would have pictures, but Ryan hates pictures and I wanted him to enjoy his birthday, so you'll have to go on mental images.

Saturday Ryan began priming the basement rooms that are finished, and we finally got around to painting Beth's room! Yay! I will post pictures when its all complete. But for now I will just say its very cute and cheerful and we are one step closer to creating "Neverland".

Also this past week we got pictures taken of the kids. Once again Teresa did not disappoint. Here are a few of my favorites. Do I have cute kids are what?

James woke me up early this morning. He was screaming. We're still not sure what it was about. When he was all calmed down he told me he was afraid of the lion... So who knows what was going on there!! He threw a few fits after that, even before we got to breakfast. So I figured now would be a good time to post some of my favorite pictures of my sweet boy to help me remember how much I love him!

My Big Helper!
My goofy boy.
Just reading himself a story... :)

I'll have to do a post for Beth later too... She has been VERY three this week.

Back Hugs

My kids were playing the funniest game the other day. James would run up and hug Beth from behind as hard as he could, Beth would laugh and start running around with James clinging to her back until they collapsed in a fit of laughter. It was hilarious! They would get back up and Beth would say, "give me another back hug James!" and this went on and on. I love when they play well together, its so much fun to watch. The bottom pictures are just some funny close-ups I got of both of them while we were playing that afternoon. Cute kids.
